Taylor Swift's Red Tour: A Night of Music, Wonder and Spectacle
She's back! And things are going to get sweeter the second time around.
Multi-Grammy winner and pop/country superstar Taylor Swift is coming back to Manila on June 6 at the Mall of Asia Arena as part of the Asia leg of her worldwide "Red Tour." And this time, it's brought to you by Cornetto in partnership with Music Management International and AEG Live.
Red Tour Manila
Swift's catchy and often-heart wrenching brand of country-pop music, as well as her enchantingly beautiful looks, has won over the hearts of millions of fans. And due to insistent public demand, along with the blockbuster success of her Red Tour in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, she is taking the tour to Asia.
"We were having the best time in Red Tour in 2013 and I want to announce that we're continuing the tour in June of 2014. We're bringing the Red Tour to Asia. I can't wait to see you and I hope you guys have a great time at the show. See you there," Swift said in a video announcement posted on her official website.
This will be Taylor's second time in Manila. Back in February 2011, she visited the country during the Manila leg of her Speak Now World Tour-a sold-out concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
A Spectacle to Behold
Taylor's The Red Tour is a sight to behold, as many entertainment writers put it. And because Filipino fans are some of the best in the world, experiencing the event live and with other Filipino swifties will definitely be one for the books. Case in point, tickets were sold out in less than two hours after release.
The concert will feature two stages. This means everyone-from those sitting near the stage to those seated at the back-will get to see her. Just like in most of her music videos, the concert will also feature elaborate costumes, designs, dancers and changing sets.
Being the musician that she is, fans can expect to see Taylor showcase her musical talent, as she is expected to play the electric guitar, her signature acoustic guitar, the piano and a banjo. Multiple costume changes are also expected throughout the night.
The set list will include several songs from her current, record-breaking album, RED, as well as new takes on other fan favorites including "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me."
Sparks will Fly
According to her official, the Red Tour has had an impressive run across the Americas and in Europe, with several prestigious music critics and personalities giving it their nod of approval. Rolling Stone magazine dubbed it a "massively excellent show."
"Seeing Taylor onstage now is seeing....total commitment, total fan fervor, total connection between audience and performer. A true arena-rock goddess at an amazing peak," they added.
The New York Times saw it as "a king-size spectacle," The Times (London) said Taylor "offers a dream package, and she does it brilliantly, while The Guardian (London) says she really "knows how to put on a show. Spectacular."
For many Filipino fans, this will definitely be a night to watch out for-a night where they can feel "happy, free, confused, and lonely in the best way."
