The Rules of Attraction: Keeping It Cool in the Club

Hitting the club is all about letting off steam and taking a well-deserved break from mind-numbing spreadsheets, drawn-out conference calls, and being at the beck and call of difficult bosses and demanding clients. The goal is to have a great time...and maybe meet some cool new people along the way. Here are a few tips to help you pull off a grand old night out without a hitch!

Dress to impress
It’s been said that clothes make the man, so from your threads to your kicks, you gotta get your style game on point. It’s easier to enjoy yourself and just have some fun when you know that you look good from head to toe. Plus, dressing well will help you stand out in a sea of partygoers.

Don’t forget to spray on some fragrance too. On a cramped dancefloor, a memorable signature scent could give you an edge over every other dude in the house. And as you lean in to make your introductions, the right scent could cement the cool, confident, and understated impression you’re looking to drive home.

Roll in with the bros
Seriously, is there even any other way to get your party on if not with your entourage? To top that off, a Dutch study has found that when you move about with a group of guys, your overall attractiveness factor can go up by 10%. Time to round up the crew!

Keep track of your charges
There’s nothing more humiliating than ordering up a storm at the bar, only to find out that you’re short on funds when the check comes out. Before heading out, know how much money you have and how much you’re willing to shell out for the night. This way, you can budget and keep that figure in mind before calling out to the barkeep for another round of shots.

But don’t be a tip skipper
Treat your servers well and tip them accordingly. They’ve been taking care of you since you got in, and they’ll be left to take care of the mess you leave behind as well. People in the service industry seldom get paid enough for all their troubles, so they’ll appreciate the gesture and more often than not, they’d remember your face the next time you come around. Chances are, you and your posse just might enjoy a few special perks the next time you swing by the club.

Respect the ladies
Last, but certainly not the least, you should never forget your manners. Accord the ladies the respect and courtesy that they deserve as your equals. A classy gent knows how to have a good time without overstepping boundaries and disregarding the significance of women’s knowing consent.
