Basketball never stops, and for us, just because it's the offseason doesn't mean we should take a break from the game. The 2015-2016 NBA Season is about a month away, and fans will want to stay up-to-date with the latest news and get into the spirit of things.

We've dug through the Google Play Store and other sites to see what's hot in the mobile basketball world. We go through standard informational apps, as well as games to find the right ones that will get you ready for basketball season all year round.

NBA 2K15

The poster child for any basketball simulation game, NBA 2K15 is arguably the best basketball app for any mobile device. The mobile version features upgraded graphics, impressive player animations, and realistic gameplay.

The app includes a quick game mode, a full "MyCareer" mode, easy to follow on-screen controls, and the same soundtrack curated by Pharrell Williams.

The full version sells for $7.99, available for download via the Amazon Appstore. Some users can download it via the Google Play Store. Minimum mobile OS requirement is Android 4.2, and at least 1.7 GB of free memory.

NBA 2K16 will be available in the last quarter of 2015.

NBA Jam

Come on and slam, and welcome to the NBA Jam.

This game app lets you play ball with the dunks and dynamics similar to Space Jam. High-flying, over-the-top, monster dunks make this one possibly the app that provides the most fun. It's a bit goofy, irreverent, but you're sure to have fun.

Gameplay is two-on-two, with a local multiplayer mode (via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) and a career mode. Probably the best part is you can put together a two-man team featuring the greatest players of all time. You can create your own dream team by pairing players from different teams and eras.

The classic arcade mode proves to be a worthwhile pastime, as you get to unlock legends and cheat codes as you defeat teams. The game sells for $4.99 with Android 2.3.3 as the minimum OS requirement.

Go to the hole. Go strong. Go for the monster jam. KABOOM!

NBA Game Time

As the official NBA app, NBA Game Time is your one-stop destination for all the ball-related information. From the latest scores, news, team stats, play-by-play information, and other updates, this app delivers.

There's a League Pass feature that allows us to watch games live or on-demand. This is arguably the best app for watching game recaps and team videos on mobile.

The app is free with numerous in-app purchase options. Minimum OS requirement is Android 4.0.

theScore

For the latest news post-game, theScore is the app to get. With this, you can follow your favorite teams, get widgets for the home screen for instant updates, and notifications when games get crazy.

The best feature of this app is you can keep tabs not only on other teams, but other sports you might be following, too. Apart from the NBA, you can use it to stay updated on the EPL, La Liga, MLB, NCAA Football, the NFL, NHL, and all other major sports.

The app is free and requires at least an Android 4.0 OS.

Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball

Be the general manager of your fantasy NBA team with the Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball app. This mobile application makes fantasy basketball a whole lot easier with better features, research, and play.

The app lets you manage your roster, stay updated on live stats, share insights and opinions with other GMs through the message boards, and figure out which team you'll go up against next.

The sports app is free and requires at least an Android 2.3.3 OS.

With this app, fantasy just got real.

Download these and other basketball apps, and you'll never miss an update again. Whatever team you're rooting for, these applications prove to be download-worthy. So, head on over to the Google Play Store or the Amazon Appstore and keep on ballin'.
