Ideally, our fathers are our role models. As kids, we look up to them as our providers, our protectors, and our heroes. Dad is the man we want to be like when we grow up. We wait till they get back home from work, anticipate the weekend we'll spend with them, and revel the moments they hold us up while running, as if we're Superman flying. Dad is the person we want to make proud the most.

As teenagers, our relationships with our fathers evolve. We learn more about life, we find our own interests, and we discover the wonder that is the female species. Throughout all this, our fathers are there to support us, guiding us firmly so we don't lose ourselves. Our dads are firm so we do not rebel, yet gentle so we respect them. They show us the meaning of real strength.
When we mature into manhood, our bonds with our fathers develop even more. We stand on more equal footing with a growing sense of admiration and mutual respect for each other. There is a friendship that stems from a better understanding of the the role we play in each other's lives. We are ambitious, and our fathers remain there for us, backing us up and sharing their wisdom. They constantly advise us and show us what it truly means to be a man.

Strengthening the Bond
The truth is, no matter how much we grow, Dad will still be Dad. That's why it's important to deepen our relationships and strengthen the bonds we share with them. Here's a lowdown of events you could go to with your father to do just that:

What better activity to share with your dad than watching a good old wrestling match on television? Well, how about watching one live?

Whether or not you're a fan of the local wrestling scene, you and your dad can't go wrong in buying tickets to PWR Central's live wrestling matches. The Philippine Wrestling Revolution holds regular matches at different locations within the metro. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one.
Even better, watch the WWE Live in Manila!

Basketball is ingrained in our blood as Pinoys, so watching a PBA game is definitely a great bonding experience with your dad. There's nothing quite like the drive of watching your favorite player make a clutch, game-winning three from courtside seats.

Remember that beer your dad wouldn't let you have? Well, now that you're legal, there's no better person to have a beer and toast with than your old man. Finding that perfect pub hosting the perfect gig is a brilliant idea to get closer with your dad. It would be awesome to kick back during a music set or kick yourself laughing at a comedy show.

Most men have an affinity for cars, and most likely, you and your dad are no different. If you've had moments spent driving with your dad or memories of helping him with repairs, then a car show is the place for you. You can develop a stronger bond as you both drool over the meanest machines and sexiest sets of wheels (and car show models).

Auto shows are all over the metro, but you may want to block off April of next year for the 2017 Manila International Auto Show.

These are just few of the events and activities out there that you can go to with your father. It doesn't really matter what it is, as long as you make the effort to spend time with him. Don't think twice about it; find the activity you'd both enjoy, and block off a day on your calendar.
